The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Remodelers Council is the recipient of the Council Award for Demonstrating Remodeling Excellence (CADRE) for Council of the Year in the large council size category. The pandemic presented many challenges including restrictions on meetings, inability to conduct events in person for several months and a surge in business issues from labor shortages to supply chain disruptions. Despite all the challenges, the Houston Remodelers Council continued to ensure their members received access to programs, information, education, and fellowship. With the introduction of virtual meetings, they were able to keep member engagement high, but networking was impacted. Eventually they were able to identify ways to foster effective networking environments. They were able to continue their membership recruitment contest, resulting in in 58 new members, 3 of which were remodelers.

The Houston Remodelers Council continues to foster strong relationships and a family atmosphere throughout the pandemic including participating in the American Institute of Architects Houston’s Sandcastle Competition. The Council is not just where members grow their business skills and knowledge, but they create long-lasting relationships with fellow professionals.
