HBA Staff Appreciation Week

Brittney Roehrich (pictured center), EO, is the only employee at the North Dakota Builders Association, says board member Jeff Haider. “From the outside looking in, you would guess there was way more staff helping behind the scenes, there’s not. It’s Brittney. She does it all. We’re lucky to have her.”
Chris Hancock, EO of the BA of Greater Indianapolis, says the team works tirelessly to make a difference. “Their dedication, leadership, and service don’t go unnoticed - we appreciate all that they do for our team and association!” Shout-out for Hannah West, Christina Wilson, Rosemary Manifold, Drake Branda, Barb Zoderer and John Kisiel.
Several members submitted shout-outs for the Greater Orlando (Fla.) BA. “The EO and entire team are true professionals who consistently deliver outstanding results. Their commitment to industry advocacy and top-tier events continues to elevate and promote our field,” says Janeen Swanson, board member.

EO Adrienne Fontenot (pictured top row, far right) is a one-person shop, says Dan Mills, EO. “She blends professionalism and fun to get the job done right every time. I know I speak for all the local Louisiana EOs when I say THANKS for bringing life to our state association every day!”
Kelsey Grow is an incredible EO for the New River Valley HBA (Christiansburg, Va.) says staff member Billie Quesenberry. “She always goes above and beyond for our members, staff, and community!”
My staff is amazing, says Katy Nelson, EO, Topeka (Kan.) HBA. “They work so hard through all the events and day to day operations. I truly could not do this job with out them.”

The BIA of Northern Kentucky (Erlanger, Ky.) has “The best association staff in the country!” says EO Brian Miller.
Chad Owens, member of the BA of Central PA (State College, Pa.), says EO Keri O’Shea “does so much for the organization and has such passion and dedication to our industry.”
Christina Slate, Space Coast HBCA, member says the team goes above and beyond every single day, “We couldn’t do it without them! To say thank you isn't enough. We appreciate you so much!” Shout-out for John Thomas, EO, Tori Thomas, Director of Marketing & Events, and Nisha Westerman, Director of Membership.
Sarah Foster, EO, HBA of the Upper Peninsula (Marquette, Mich.), submitted a shout-out for Sarah Ingham for organizing the office, a huge undertaking. “She also puts our HBA out there front and center, always looking for members to give kudos to..”
Adam Olson, BIA of the Red River Valley (Fargo, N.D.) board member, submitted a shout-out for the staff, “Whether it’s advancing our priorities, supporting our pillars, or simply making sure the day-to-day operations are handled with care and excellence, this team shows up and delivers.”
Kim Crawford, EO, Foothills HBA (Hickory, N.C.), submitted a shout-out for her assistant Romi McCurry. Crawford says “She always goes above and beyond to help make our association successful.”
Theresa Kennedy, EO, says the Huntsville/Madison County (Ala.) BA team is committed to excellence in everything they do, “from crushing goals to providing outstanding member service.”
Annamaria Long, EO (pictured left) says Flagler HBA staff member Samantha Dawson (pictured right) operates at a high level. “Samantha has grown as an individual and as our Membership and Events Coordinator, bringing our membership and retention to a post-recession high and increasing our event attendance and profits.”
We could not have asked for a more dedicated EO, says Kerwyn Jones-Wilson, member of the BIA of the Big Bend (Tallahassee, Fla.). “Emma Altendorf has taken the initiatives from our executive board and transformed them into actionable plans, turning vision into reality. Marie Watson, EO, Santa Fe (N.M.) Area HBA, submitted a shout-out for Tanya Dorame (pictured left). “I want to express my appreciation for Tanya… not only because of her loyalty and commitment to our association, but also because she as a friend and huge support to me personally!”
Christine Raible, member of the Capital Region B&RA (Clifton Park, N.Y.) (pictured left), submitted a shout-out for Kristen Egelston (pictured right), EO. “Kristen works tirelessly for our members and always has their best interests at heart!”
Marla Novak, EO, says the HBA of Colorado Springs (Colo.) has experienced transition this year and sent a shout-out for the team. “Our staff has embraced change with professionalism, grace, and an unwavering commitment to our members and industry.”
Maria Moore, EO, Fredericksburg (Va.) Area BA, says the team (Meghan, Robin and Sean) does a remarkable job keeping members informed and engaged. “I couldn't ask for a better and more committed team that makes the association run smoothly and fun! Their passion and energy impact those around them and we are proud to celebrate our FABA staff this week and every week!”
Scott Brannock, a Northeast Florida BA (Jacksonville, Fla.) member, says EO Jessie Spradley has demonstrated unwavering leadership and commitment to the BA and industry. “Jessie’s vision, passion, energy and advocacy keep our organization moving forward and our members connected. His dedication makes a lasting impression and impact on those around him!”
Dan Mills, EO, HBA of Greater New Orleans, says he couldn't ask for a better team (Ashlyn Charbonnet, Kelly Katner, and Nancy Kirkeby) to support the association’s membership. “This group is professional, fun, and they let me dress up for the holidays!”
Shawn Groover, member, says Natalie Fryer is the heartbeat of the HBA of Fayetteville (N.C.). “A true leader whose energy, vision, and dedication continue to elevate the Fayetteville home building community.”
Dream team status: confirmed, says M. Lindsay Brown, EO, Central Washington (Yakima, Wash.) HBA. “They juggle a million moving parts, somehow keep their humor intact, and always deliver results that make us proud. Their creativity, commitment, and camaraderie are the real secret sauce behind our success.”
Tia Hutt, board member, sent a huge shout-out for Julie Kneeland, EO, Watertown (S.D.) Area HBA. “Your hard work, passion for our association, and community involvement don’t go unnoticed.”
Craig Toalson, EO, gives a big shout-out to his incredible team at the HBA of Virginia (Emily, Andrew, Channing, and Kara). “You’re constantly finding ways to improve, innovate, and, most importantly, collaborate to achieve our goals and serve our members with excellence. Because of your efforts, our association and Virginia’s housing industry continue to reach new heights.”
The Frederick County (Md.) BIA has a greater presence online because of Kimberly Mazziott’s gift with marketing, says EO Danielle Adams. “She has elevated our events with her graphic designs, and made our sponsors feel valued with showcasing their brand.”
EOs and HBA staff work tirelessly to help their members, associations, and the Federation succeed. To recognize the staff’s ongoing contributions to the Federation, HBA Staff Appreciation Week took place Nov. 3-7, 2025. The HBA of Western Michigan (Kalamazoo, Mich.) staff are passionate and work hard to make our association run very smoothly. They are active on several committees outside of the HBA, but part of the building industry to get us out in the community, as well as keeping a pulse on the industry outside of the HBA. I can't imagine a better team to work with.
The Charleston (S.C.) HBA staff are leaders in our industry and are well respected within our community. They always have our member’s best interest in mind. And their dedication and commitment to excellence shows through our membership retention and growth as an association.
As the new EO here at the MBA of Pierce County, this team has stepped up over the past few months during the transition period AND a building remodel to provide support for the Board of Directors, members and myself. We look forward to great things now and in the future!

Krystal Shearer is a positive energy force! She is engaging and detailed and we appreciate all she does for the HBA of Metro Harrisburg (Pa.).
The Colorado HBA staff work tirelessly to keep the development community informed about important updates and changes within the built environment. Their dedication to supporting builders and developers—while consistently advocating against the bureaucratic challenges that threaten our industry—is truly commendable.
Quad City Builders and Remodelers Association (Davenport, Iowa) has the best EO and staff! They make sure every event is a success and that the members are well engaged and informed of any upcoming events, HBA issues or important information that needs to get to the membership.
Ali Salow and Cliff McDonald have been on the job just two years. Ali is doing great things. She is undertaking publishing our membership directory and all other publications. Cliff is doing an amazing job with our accounting. The Greater Iowa City HBA is lucky to have them!
JT and Cindy have strengthened the foundation of the Greater Brazos Valley HBA (College Station, Texas) setting us up for continued growth and success. We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a talented, dedicated team leading the way.

Your dedication, professionalism, and advocacy for our industry make all the difference.
The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) understands how to support our EOs statewide. They are diligent in sending TAB staff and senior leadership to support membership, leadership, charitable and other events. After the catastrophic July 4 floods in our state, they ensured communication to the rest of our state and gave members and EOs opportunities to support each other!
Patricia Bladow, EO of the Lakeland BA (Elkhorn, Wis.), works on a part-time basis and still is able to keep the members informed on all things going on at NAHB. And she has created one of the largest “Build My Future” skills interactive program in Wisconsin.
Reagan Van Cleave is stepping up to lead the 72+ year-old Coastal Virginia (Virginia Beach, Va.) BIA, a merger of TBA and PHBA, in these times of uncertainty. I have seen tremendous growth in her leadership skills in working with her staff, hiring new staff, creating creative ideas to re-engage the members, and helping the organization attract new members.
Keely Carney is the new Kansas BIA EO and she has been a great addition to the team for Kansas. She sees the vision and is keep us on track and moving forward. The training is a lot and she is keeping up like a champ!
Claudia Cieslar, EO, HBA of Midwest Georgia (Newnan, Ga.) does a fantastic job!
This is my first year on staff as Wichita (Kan.) Area BA as an Executive Officer ... and I can't even begin to enumerate the ways I appreciate this team of dedicated staff members.
The Home Builders of Greater Aiken Augusta (Ga.) Region staff does an amazing job for our association. Not only do they keep the daily operations flowing but they also excel at pulling off amazing events and networking opportunities for our members.
A huge thank-you to Justine Garza for her incredible problem-solving skills and for creating systems that streamline our administrative processes and support our growth.
