HBA Advisory Services
HBA Advisory Services offers customized consulting and training for you and your volunteer leaders to help your association reach new levels of success. We will work with you and your leadership as you position your association for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

Topics include leadership, governance, membership, team development and more. To view a full list of current offerings or to schedule a Leadership Training Workshop, visit HBA Advisory Services.

Local BOD Orientation
It’s important to provide important information to new and existing board members about the organization and their individual and collective roles and responsibilities as directors of the association. Grounding your board in principles of good governance can go a long way to building a strong and healthy board of directors.
For additional information on how to schedule a Board Orientation, submit an Inquiry Form.

President’s Council
NAHB’s President’s Council is hosted by Advisory Services and held during each of the three annual leadership meetings. The gathering includes an update from NAHB leadership and content to improve your HBA’s impact, efficiency and effectiveness.

NAHB Leadership Orientation
Held at the National Housing Center in Washington DC, the NAHB Orientation has historically been hosted exclusively for Executive Officers. NAHB recently developed a Leadership Track that provides volunteer leaders programming that is tailored to the member’s specific role as a leader within the Federation, through experiential components, roundtable discussions and customized training sessions.

While attending these meetings, leaders will have the opportunity to network and learn alongside other HBA leaders, hear from NAHB Senior Officers and staff, and discuss with fellow leaders the housing issues that impact their business.

The NAHB members who attended the 2023 Spring Orientation had the opportunity to tour Capitol Hill and meet with members of the Problem Solvers Caucus. Find out more about their experience on this page.

Details on applying for future offerings will be announced as dates are confirmed.

Emerging Leader Grant
NAHB provides a limited number of one-time grants for members to attend either Spring or Fall Leadership Meetings. The grants are designed to support emerging local and state leaders who are interested in becoming engaged at the national level, but who have not yet had the opportunity to attend a national meeting.
