1150 North is a unique take on co-living that fits in seamlessly into its vibrant neighborhood in Philadelphia. The development is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, businesses and nightlife. The odd-shaped lot is in a densely populated neighborhood bound by limited access on one side and angled street frontage on the other, so careful attention had to be paid to site programming to allow for ample utility access, commercial space and parking, while still employing enough space to encourage community living. Large volumetric modules with integrated corridors sit on top of a filigree concrete podium, which allows large spans for first-floor parking and commercial spaces while reducing trade involvement and compressing construction time.
