The owners wanted to replicate the cozy and rustic architectural appeal of these camps in their log home design. This home's great room area is anchored by the massive stone fireplace, solid wood walls and structural timber beams for the vaulted T&G ceilings and second floor loft area. The exterior of classic Adirondack camps featured a mix of organic materials. From full round 8” logs to wood shakes to stone, all were used to blend masterfully with the surrounding Hemlocks and natural ground cover found on the building site for this log home. The unique rustic architectural style also uses large porches to offer connection to the outdoors. One of the mainstays of traditional Adirondack style is twig work. Twigs were often used as inlaid decoration on doors, frames, cabinetry and all types of furniture. Each log home reflects the dream of the client and this home blends perfectly with its surroundings and creates the rustic elegance of the Adirondack style that the homeowners were looking to achieve.
