This home is a single-family residence that was modified from a standard model design to meet the customers’ needs. The customers were looking for a log home that would blend with the naturally wooded lot in the small subdivision where they were building. The home is built with the 6-inch by 12-inch double-V log profile and an authentic dovetail corner notch. The narrow sloping lot required a design that was not overly wide. The customers were building their retirement home, so a first-floor bedroom, full bath and open living area were required. The Craftsman-style Stoneridge design met their needs with the addition of a two-car garage with a room above for crafts and storage. The loft area provided an additional bedroom for guests, another full bath and a loft area for the owner’s baby grand piano. Outdoor living space was also a priority, so the full front porch with room for rockers and a combination of porch and deck on the rear elevation looking into the woods worked perfect for the home owners.
