The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (Mo.) earned two AEAs for its public relations and website redesign efforts.

The HBA of Greater Kansas City (Mo.) earned two Association Excellence Awards for its public relations campaign, Let Builders Build, and website redesign, which debuted fall 2025.

From rebuilding communities after disasters to advancing pro-housing policies, state and local home builders associations (HBAs) and their leaders are finding practical ways to serve their members and address local needs.

In recognition of their efforts, 22 HBAs and four individuals received Association Excellence Awards (AEAs) for programs that delivered meaningful results across the country. The winners were honored Aug. 25-27, 2026, at the Association Management Conference in St. Louis.

"The strength of our Federation is reflected every day in the work happening at the local and state levels," said Greg Lane, BIA of Washington executive vice president and NAHB Executive Officers Council president. "This year's AEA winners demonstrated innovative and meaningful ways to support their members, strengthen their communities and tackle important challenges. Congratulations to all of the winners for this well-deserved honor."

AEA HBA Winners

NAHB received 97 AEA submissions in the following categories: communications, education, government affairs, operations, membership and revenue. Here are a few of the winners:

Community Rebuilding After Flooding

After devastating floods struck Central Texas and the Hill Country in July 2025, the Texas Association of Builders coordinated rapid response efforts between multiple local HBAs to deliver immediate assistance to affected individuals and families.

Electing Pro-Housing Candidates

The Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association’s BUILD the Vote initiative encouraged younger residents to participate in local elections and understand how land development choices affect their communities.

Preventing Costly Energy Code Mandates

The Home Builders Association of Delaware successfully challenged proposed statewide energy code regulations that would have increased home construction costs by tens of thousands of dollars.

The individual AEAs are designed to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Executive Officers in the field of association management.
