Student Chapter Membership
NAHB’s Student Chapter program is dedicated to enriching students’ educational experience and exposure to the home building industry through national programming and the connection with their local home builders’ association.
This national membership offers educational programming, leadership development and networking opportunities among other benefits. NAHB Student Chapters membership is right for students studying for a career in residential construction or skilled trades, or younger minds seeking more information and exposure to construction-related career pathways.
This exciting program gives students opportunities to:
- Build industry-valued leadership skills
- Meet and form relationships with real builders and industry professionals through your local Home Builders Association (HBA)
- Have a voice in securing your future in the residential industry
A Student Chapter can be started by either a school faculty member or an Executive Officer of a local association.
You will need:
- The name of the school or program
- A faculty sponsor
- A local association as a representative
- To complete the NAHB Student Chapter affiliation agreement
- To pay Student Chapter Membership Dues
- Secondary Student Chapter Membership - Individual Membership ($5 per student)
- Post-Secondary Student Chapter Membership - Individual Membership ($25 per student)
- Secondary Student Chapter Membership - Entire Student Roster ($200 for roster)
- Post-Secondary Student Chapter Membership - Entire Student Roster ($400 for roster)

- High School and Secondary Programs: Renewal fees are $5 per student, or $200 for full roster.
- Post-Secondary Programs: Renewal fees are $25 per student, or $400 for full roster.
NOTE: This student chapter dues structure is subject to change
NAHB Student and Faculty Members can add new students to their chapter throughout the year. Membership is on a 12-month rolling basis. Adding a new student, or renewing your own membership is simple.
- Download and complete the Student Chapter Roster Form.
- Return the Student Chapter Roster Form to [email protected] (in Excel format). Student Rosteres not received in Excel format will prevent student memberships from being processed.
- Compete in the NAHB Student Competition at the International Builders’ Show
- Attend the International Builders’ Show, the largest annual light construction show in the world. Student members are eligible for a free or discounted expo-pass.
- Every October we celebrate Careers in Construction Month. Join our national campaign celebrating all construction professions.
- All student members are NAHB Young Professionals, too! YP Week takes place every October and focuses on mentoring, community involvement and professional development.
- Celebrated every February, Careers in Technical Education Month recognizes the value of CTE programs across the country.
