2026 Award Winners
Several industry leaders were honored for their contributions to the housing industry during the National Housing Center Awards Ceremony on June 10 in Washington, D.C. The ceremony recognized the 2025 inductees to the National Housing Hall of Fame and the recipients of the Exemplary Service to Home Building Award.
- The Hall of Fame was established in 1976 to recognize individuals whose spirit, ingenuity and strength of character have changed our nation's housing for the better. Their determination, resourcefulness and hard work has improved home building and the quality of life for all Americans.
- The Exemplary Service to Home Building Award was established to recognize individuals for outstanding and commendable accomplishments in service to the housing industry. These are people who have made noteworthy contributions to housing and had a significant impact on the nation’s home building industry.

2026 Hall of Fame Inductees
Thomas Bozzuto
Committed to community, Thomas Bozzuto has instilled a culture of concern, creativity, passion and the pursuit of perfection both into the residential spaces he creates and to the company he has served as CEO, Chairman and Chief Culture Officer. These traits have helped him to receive, personally, many lifetime achievement awards and recognitions as an industry and business leader, and his development projects have been listed as best in class by many leading awards programs.
Laurie Goodman
Laurie Goodman has spent her career collecting and analyzing housing data to advance smart housing policy. Her work has not only shaped the Wall Street firms she guided for more than 30 years but was instrumental in the reshaping of the housing industry both during and following the Great Recession of 2008. Without her contributions to the field, the housing finance landscape would certainly be diminished.
2026 Exemplary Service in Home Building Award Recipients
Marvin “Jerry” G. Carter Jr.
A leader both within the building industry and the public sector, Marvin “Jerry” Carter has served in many critical leadership roles throughout his career. One of the hallmarks of his career was the implementation of a stormwater permitting enforcement program, making his hometown of Garland the first city in Texas to adopt storm water management requirements. Jerry’s work has not only made North Texas a better place to live: the policies he has championed have made communities safer and more sustainable across the country.
Edward E. Martin Jr.
A native of Texas and a nearly lifelong resident of Houston, Edward “Eddie” Martin has established his company, Tilson Custom Home Builders, as a provider of custom homes that are affordable to families in underserved and rural areas through his pioneering techniques and business practices. Committed to fairness, integrity and collaboration, he has established lasting relationships across the industry that help him to lift others up. A leader of his local, state and national home buildings associations, he has developed a reputation for integrity that is integral to the home building industry in Texas and across the nation.
