The Hadley, a 471-unit multifamily development in Mountain View, Calif., is a 10-minute bike ride to downtown Mountain View and Sunnyvale (and Caltrain stations). The design capitalizes on its convenient location, yet removed from the buzz of downtown.
The Hadley offers coziness and comfort, and provides ample amenities away from the noise and around nature. The site was formerly home to the Mount Eden Floral Company, a family-run flower mart founded by Yoshima Shibata. The Hadley pays homage to Mr. Shibata’s beloved florals with vibrant coloration, texture, Japanese wood blocking and a connection to nature. The Hadley (meadow in Old English) retells this story by designing the spaces, art, amenities and experience. The result is a one-of-a-kind environment.
The project is currently in lease-up. The leasing space serves as a welcome and gathering space. The leasing design reflects a warm, natural palette with cozy seating areas and community tables. It is a place of hospitality, with complimentary on-tap kombucha and cold brew coffee and the chance to borrow a picnic basket and blanket on your way to the park.
The Hadley meets the green point rated qualifications with extensive sustainable elements such as solar, drought-tolerant landscaping, gearless elevators, water-efficient plumbing features, high-efficiency irrigation systems, energy-efficient appliances, and zero volatile organic compound (VOC) interior walls and paint.
