Project Statement
Copeland is a new 336-unit apartment community in Grand Prairie, Texas. It includes seven corridor-fed, three-story walk-up residential buildings, and a one-story standalone clubhouse on 14.26 acres of land. It was designed and sited to create a walkable, urban community for residents and visitors.
Residents love the vibrant social spaces including a media lounge with a wall of big screens, a community kitchen with an espresso bar, a 24-hr fitness center with yoga and spin room, complimentary kombucha and cold brew on tap in the game room, and a splash-worthy pool with lap lane. Copeland’s fabulously appointed apartments come with all the bells and whistles, such as quartz countertops, subway tile backsplashes, stylish plank flooring, washers and dryers, and walk-in closets.
With a nod to the Grand Prairie heritage, Copeland mixes the traditional and the eclectic. The exciting vibrant style pulls from classic prints and materials while adding a touch of whimsy. Art and graphics are inspired by the local landscape, while raw and refined materials such as aged wood, reclaimed brick, custom artwork, expanded metal screens and custom metal planters strike a balance of vintage charm and modern appeal. Utilizing reclaimed, repurposed and textural materials and furniture adds a warmth and character to the space while also adding durability. Concrete, stone and quartz add balance and texture. Together it creates a space using materials that feel in tune with the area’s history but with a present-day feel.
The community’s location gives residents easy access to all of what Grand Prairie has to offer. From an epic indoor waterpark to the waterfront of Joe Pool Lake, this city offers a prairie-load of recreation, while still being close to the excitement of downtown Dallas.
