Project Statement

255 Assay is a 251-unit (studio, one, two and three bedrooms, and penthouse), five-story wrap building with ground floor retail and is the first midrise luxury apartment community in northeast Houston. 255 Assay is 20 minutes from downtown Houston and is the first component to be built in Redemption Square — a 52-acre urban mixed-use district, featuring multiple hotels, Class A offices, an early child development center, fitness center, restaurants, shops and daily services. 255 Assay offers luxurious amenities such as 10-foot ceilings in units, gas ranges, a 75-foot lap pool and resort-style pool with chiller, an expansive resident room with a wood-burning fireplace and pool table, and is located within walking distance of shopping, dining, luxury services, trails and parks. Three different looks for the building mass were completed: commercial with flat roofs and heavy trim; classic historic low-rise downtown building city street; and a residential side, with gable roofs and traditional design. The project offers 19,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor along Assay Street, which is the main artery of Redemption Square.
