The purpose of the Charlotte DeSoto Building Industry Association's (CDBIA) Home and Remodeling show is to educate the community on the importance of hiring licensed contractors while promoting members of the association who serve as trusted industry professionals. Attendees from the community were provided with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed hiring decisions, ask the right questions and verify contractor licensing, which helped to empower local homeowners. The event also served as a platform for contractors to demonstrate their credibility and transparency.

Beyond consumer education and member exposure, the show was designed to create meaningful opportunities for the next generation of industry professionals. High schoolers were encouraged to volunteer, gain hands-on experience, engage directly with industry professionals and participate in the BUILD competition for students. This competition was one of the standout features of the event and drew significant attention and enthusiasm from attendees as students displayed their skills and creativity through building projects.
