The Saline Home Builders Association's (Saline HBA) annual Clay Shooting Tournament is a high-quality networking event designed to bring together builders, associates and community partners to raise funds to support students pursuing careers in the residential construction industry. The event fosters meaningful member engagement and serves as an investment in local workforce development and educational opportunities. The primary goal of this initiative is to make a direct impact on the future talent of the industry by funding the Jamie Lynn Gabbard Memorial Scholarship for students pursuing education in construction-related fields and hands-on trade education within Saline County schools.
With strong member participation, strategic sponsorship outreach and purpose-driven fundraising efforts that highlighted a shared mission, the tournament raised $3,500 in 2025, with $2,500 benefiting the Jamie Lynn Gabbard Memorial Scholarship, and the remaining $1,000 was donated to local career and technical education programs to offset material costs. The event successfully strengthens member relationships, increases association visibility in the community and delivers measurable financial support to benefit the future of the industry.
