Year: 2025
This project by the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) focused on aligning day-to-day operations, staffing, governance and organization resources to maximize operational readiness. The goal was to ensure that HBAV's ambitious goals across member programs and services, advocacy and education and workforce development were more than a vision for success and supplied measurable outcomes. The results of this initiative included establishing staff-driven core values that prioritized integrity, innovation, teamwork, excellence and member experience. Additionally, HBAV implemented a comprehensive staffing realignment, strategically evaluated its IT infrastructure, accounting and human resources, and made critical updates to policy and procedural manuals. This allowed the association to foster a culture of accountability for its leaders, strengthened professional development, improved event attendance, enhanced advocacy and member services capacity, and streamlined communication efficiency without compromising strong financial performance.
The enhancements made to the operational efficiency of the association has well positioned staff, leaders, committees and members to execute its strategic plan for 2025-29 to create lasting improvements and strengthen the value of HBAV membership and Virginia’s housing industry.
