This project by the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky (BIANKY) moved CPR and first aid training in-house to avoid unnecessary expenses and scheduling inefficiencies from using outside vendors. This reduced costs for members and students seeking training and increased participation in bundled educational programs. These safety courses are essential to construction training, including electrical, HVAC, carpentry, welding, plumbing and other workforce development programs designed to streamline entrance into the industry. BIANKY focused on internalizing these training capacities by certifying its staff members as instructors, standardizing lesson plans to ensure consistency, eliminating travel costs and improving its ability to respond to member demand.

This project successfully reduced costs by eliminating instructor fees, lowering certification costs and leveraging existing infrastructure with compounded savings, to create a model that fosters long-term sustainability. The initiative demonstrated the value of operational innovation for financial efficiency, enhanced membership value and accessible workforce development training opportunities.
