New Resource Site Centralizes HBA Advocacy Tools

The goal of the Madison Area Builders Association’s (MABA) Resource Site was to effectively and efficiently provide its members with dynamic, practical tools to strengthen advocacy efforts and centralize information related to housing and development. The website consolidates advocacy materials, municipal information and housing data, and it incorporates an interactive development map and the 2025 MABA fee study to further increase transparency. By presenting these materials, guides and datasets in an accessible way, members, policymakers, community members and other stakeholders become more informed about how factors interact to influence local housing costs.

The result of this project was a more widespread understanding and utilization of valuable materials that benefit the business decisions of industry stakeholders, encourage members to engage in local advocacy efforts and highlight the importance of local construction in the community. The success of the project is demonstrated in part by its consistent use in real-world applications. This includes MABA members who reference the materials to suggest future advocacy plans and stakeholders who use the sites as a tool at common council meetings to help advance policies designed to improve housing attainability and encourage responsible development.
