HBA-Led Capital Campaign Establishes Historic Endowment for Texas Technical College

The Texas Association of Builders (TBA) launched a private campaign for the establishment of a historic $850 million endowment for Texas State Technical College (TSTC), ensuring long-term infrastructure stability across 11 campuses that previously forced the college to turn away students due to lack of classroom space. TSTC is the state’s premier institution dedicated to skilled workforce development training; however, it faces unique results-based funding challenges where state support is dependent on graduate employment. This makes the funding of the endowment a huge success for trade programs and technical skill-based courses in the state.
The endowment provides TSTC with the resources necessary to scale high-demand programs in fields such as welding, plumbing, pipefitting, solar energy and more. The initiative additionally supports Occupational Safety and Environmental Compliance training, meaning graduates of skill-based programs will enter the workforce prepared to maintain high safety standards in construction and residential developments. This campaign made it possible for more students to receive high-quality education in trade, benefiting the long-term future of the state’s $137 billion construction industry.
