The Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) hosts its annual Government Affair Clay Shoot, which has grown into one of the organization’s most anticipated events since its inception in 2019. Originally a modest fundraiser, the event underwent a major transformation in 2021 under new leadership, evolving into a dynamic, high-impact networking and fundraising experience. The 2024 Clay Shoot surpassed all set goals, including selling 42 foursomes (including 25 sponsor-backed teams), drawing 168 shooters and 20 afterparty guests, and welcoming seven elected officials. The event brought in $89,381 in total income and achieved a record-breaking profit of $44,870, nearly a 200% increase from its inaugural year.
Its success lies in the elevated experience and attention to detail: custom giveaways like Cabela’s shooting vests, premium thank-you gifts for sponsors, a three-gun raffle and a high-end afterparty featuring a cook-your-own steak station, oyster bar, live music, cigars and a full-service bar. This innovative format has significantly increased participation and enhanced the event’s reputation, delivering vital funding for NEFBA’s Government Affairs initiatives while strengthening connections with members, industry professionals and elected officials.
