The Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) holds its Annual Conference and Housing Excellence Awards, which continues to be a cornerstone event for Virginia’s home building industry. In 2024, the two-day, two-night event brought together more than 300 industry professionals and featured a high-impact panel of nine experts covering key topics such as housing supply, interest rates and market opportunities. Attendees benefited from diverse educational sessions, one-on-one networking at “Coffee with the Trades” and multiple receptions designed to foster industry collaboration. The awards honored achievements in more than 20 categories including Builder, Associate and Woman of the Year.
This year, HBAV introduced a charity auction benefiting its Education Foundation, which raised $23,225, including $7,600 from a limited-edition run of 100 hats, to fund scholarships, apprenticeships and workforce development programs. The event also delivered significant financial returns, generating more than $75,000 in non-dues revenue for HBAV. These outcomes demonstrate the event’s growing value and impact, not only as a key member experience but also as a driver of future industry sustainability and excellence across Virginia.
