The Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs (CSHBA) and its philanthropic arm, HBA Cares, established the Woody & Millie Ingram Guest House project to provide a compassionate, home-like environment for families of patients undergoing extended medical care. Located near a hospital, this facility offers no-cost accommodations for families facing medical crises, reducing the financial and emotional burden associated with seeking treatment far from home. The Guest House accommodates families from local, regional, national and international locations, ensuring they have a place to rest, recharge and stay close to their loved ones. With 25 fully furnished suites, the facility also includes plans for expansion to serve an increasing demand.
The success of this project can be attributed to community collaboration, with contributions from local builders, contractors, suppliers and volunteers. More than $4.2 million in donations were raised, providing high-quality construction, donated materials and operational sustainability. The facility is designed with energy-efficient features and offers a serene, healing environment for families. It represents a model of compassionate community service and forward-thinking planning, ensuring that the Guest House will continue to support families in need for generations to come.
