The purpose of this project was to produce a high-quality publication that serves as the official guide for the Central Washington Tour of Homes while also acting as a year-round resource for both consumers and members. With goals to promote the local home building industry, highlight member builders, strengthen community visibility and connections, and generate non-dues revenue through advertising, the Central Washington Home Builders Association (CWHBA) designed the Home Resource and Buyers Guide to go beyond event support and become a valuable, multi-functional tool. By partnering with E&M Consulting as the publisher, the association was able to enhance the magazine’s design, content and distribution, reaching a broader audience and delivering greater value to advertisers.
The project has evolved from a simple event guide into a professionally produced magazine that now serves as a key marketing and outreach platform. Strategic improvements in advertising sales, content development and member engagement led to increased visibility for builders and a significant boost in non-dues revenue. Despite challenges, such as staff transitions and CRM limitations, the publication remained a consistent and impactful resource, reinforcing the association’s leadership in promoting the home building industry.
