The North Carolina Home Builders Educational & Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with First Bank, embarked on a mission to distribute copies of “The House that She Built” book to every elementary school in the state. The goal was to demonstrate to young students the diverse opportunities available in the residential construction industry, emphasizing that all roles are accessible to individuals.
The HBA sent a letter accompanied by a self-addressed postcard to each school superintendent across all 115 districts in North Carolina. The postcard requested essential information such as the number of elementary schools in the district, a point of contact and a centralized mailing address. To date, the HBA has distributed 1,112 books to the elementary schools.
