Precision Planning Keeps The New American Home 2027 on Track
Building a 10,400-square-foot luxury show home on an accelerated timeline requires careful planning, constant communication and close collaboration. As construction continues on The New American Home® 2027, the project is strategically navigating one of its most demanding phases: the rough-in.
During this pivotal stage, mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades are all working throughout the home simultaneously, making coordination critical to keeping the project on schedule.
“We have upwards of 55 to 60 guys on site at [any given] time, and you really need perfect communication to have everybody work together,” said Mike Tantalo, superintendent at Blue Heron Homes. “It’s been a blast to see. I’ve never been a part of a project like this.”
Located in the Southern Highlands, a luxury-home community in Henderson, Nev. overlooking the Las Vegas Valley, the 2027 show home is designed to highlight the latest trends in high-performance construction, wellness-focused living and seamless indoor-outdoor design.
Once complete, the home will put its innovative products and construction techniques on full display during the 2027 NAHB International Builders' Show® (IBS). While many of the home's standout features will be visible in the finished product, some of its key components will be behind the walls.
For example, the home requires an extensive gas distribution system capable of supplying multiple indoor and outdoor fire features, in addition to the gas ranges and furnaces. The build team gave high praise to OmegaFlex for supplying the high-performance gas piping system and providing installation support that helped keep the project moving efficiently during this complex stage of construction.
The completed home will be officially unveiled during IBS 2027 in Las Vegas, Feb. 2-4. Show registration is set to open Sept. 1, 2026.
