IBS 2027 Show Home Blends Nature, Wellness and Luxury
The New American Home 2027, one of two official show homes for next year’s International Builders’ Show, is raising the bar yet again for what modern living truly means. This next edition of the show home program is artfully blending the latest building techniques with high-end amenities and natural elements.
Construction is well underway on the 2027 showcase, which is being built in the Southern Highlands community in Las Vegas. Once construction is completed in the fall of 2026, the two-story home will boast approximately 10,400 livable square feet, including three bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.
A Masterclass in Indoor-Outdoor Design
The moment visitors arrive, the home makes a statement. Expansive sightlines stretch through the property, creating a sense of openness and drawing the outdoors into the living areas.
Nature plays a critical role throughout the home. Water, fire and greenery are woven into the overall design to create a calming, sensory-rich atmosphere. The most dramatic example sits in the heart of the great room, where a mature tree is levitated over a water-and-fire feature.
“We have water features, fire features, planters,” said Shannon Brickhouse, director of interior design at Blue Heron Homes. “This beautiful tree as our centerpiece in the great room [exemplifies how] we’ve really thought about those elements as we’ve designed the home and how that really affects how you live in a space and how you interact.”
A Spotlight on Wellness
Perhaps the strongest theme throughout the home is wellness. To underscore that focus, the design team integrated a dedicated wellness retreat — complete with fitness, recovery and relaxation amenities — bringing spa-inspired living directly inside the home.
That focus continues upstairs in the primary suite, which occupies its own private wing of the home. A portion of the room protrudes beyond the main structure and features floor-to ceiling windows on three sides to enable unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape and Las Vegas Valley.
Optimizing Entertainment Opportunities
Another striking feature of the home is a six-car garage. Far from a simple place to park vehicles, the glass-enclosed showcase garage includes an adjoining lounge to create an entirely new type of entertainment space.
