During the 2025 Fall Leadership Meeting, the NAHB State and Local Government Affairs Committee awarded three HBAs financial assistance through the State and Local Issues Fund (SLIF) to support advocacy efforts on housing affordability issues.

The HBAs were awarded $60,000 in total for their efforts:

  • The Southern Nevada HBA (Las Vegas) received funds to continue work on legislation to improve the Nevada right to repair laws.
  • The HBA of Kentucky was awarded funding to conduct a study on the cost of regulations for building a home in the state.

This year, the committee disbursed $360,000 through SLIF to 18 state and local HBAs. Associations that need assistance with advocacy initiatives addressing common industry programs or that face challenges with national policy implications are encouraged to apply. Visit the SLIF application and guidelines page to learn more.
