Expand Your NAHB Leadership Journey This Fall
During the upcoming NAHB Fall Leadership Meeting in Denver, Nov. 17-19, NAHB members and leaders will gather to discuss key initiatives, decide how to address top industry issues and participate in valuable networking opportunities.
To enable more first-time attendees to benefit from these leadership meetings, NAHB established the Emerging Leader Grant, a one-time grant of up to $1,000 toward the member’s travel expenses.
The Emerging Leader Grant is designed for members currently engaged in leadership at their state or local HBA, and who aspire to further their national leadership journey.
“Receiving the Emerging Leader Grant created a powerful opportunity for me to expand my education and expertise, especially in my journey as a mentor in the interior design-build field,” shared Rhonnika Clifton, founder of R J Clifton Designs in Houston and a 2024 grant recipient. “It has allowed me the opportunity to deepen my commitment to guiding BIPOC students and emerging professionals, providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive in the industry.”
“I loved getting a little taste for how change and legislation gets generated through common ideas,” noted fellow 2024 grant recipient Jessica Overcash of Integrity Electric of Charlotte County LLC.
“The leadership conferences are the life blood of the committees, and that is where the relationships are solidified,” she added.
The Emerging Leader Grant is exclusively for members who have not previously attended the NAHB Spring or Fall Leadership Meetings.
The deadline to apply is Aug. 31. Visit nahb.org for more information.
