Each year, the housing industry celebrates homeownership month in June to remind consumers about the importance of home in our lives.

More than four out of five Americans (82%) agree that housing affordability is a problem in the city or county where they live, according to a recent survey conducted by the polling firm Morning Consult on behalf of NAHB.

To help more Americans achieve homeownership, NAHB members and leaders continue to advocate at the federal, state and local level to reduce building costs, increase housing supply and provide diverse housing choices. NAHB members will meet with lawmakers on June 11 in Washington, D.C., to discuss practical solutions for overcoming housing affordability challenges.

NAHB has an online toolkit of resources that can be tailored for any local market to help members share messages about the value of homeownership throughout June. Toolkit resources include sample social media posts and videos, talking points and customizable articles of interest for current and prospective home owners.
