Chairman's Update: Important Updates from the 2024 Fall Leadership Meeting
As election day approaches, 2024 NAHB Chairman Carl Harris provides important updates from the 2024 Fall Leadership Meeting (FLM), including:
- We Build, We Vote campaign to raise awareness of the strength that builders’ votes have during this election.
- Member Tax Listening Sessions on the upcoming tax cliff to educate members on a key issue we will be dealing with in 2025.
- HBA Staff Appreciation Week, taking place Nov. 11-15, to celebrate our executive officers and HBA staff.
Members can also access NAHB Chief Economist Dr. Robert Dietz's presentation from FLM on nahb.org.
And don't forget to vote on Nov. 5.
“This election is critical, and we need you to be engaged in this process,” Harris encouraged.

Fed Remains on Pause AgainAt the conclusion of its July meeting, the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy committee once again held the federal funds rate constant at a top rate of 4.5%. However, two members of the committee dissented from the decision (Fed Board Governors Waller and Bowman), the largest number of dissenting votes since 1993.
