NAHB Positions Housing as a Key Election Issue
As the 2024 election cycle continues to ramp up ahead of Nov. 5, housing has emerged as a key issue for both parties, with a focus on increasing supply and breaking down regulatory barriers — highlights of NAHB’s 10-point plan to help solve the housing affordability crisis.
NAHB has been actively involved in the housing discussions through its participation in both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. NAHB Chairman Carl Harris and First Vice Chairman Buddy Hughes were in attendance at each event, along with NAHB staff, to keep housing at the forefront of campaigns on both sides of the aisles.

NAHB has created to an Election 2024 section to continue to promote housing as a key issue in this election cycle. This includes both NAHB’s advocacy and public relations efforts, nationwide news coverage highlighting housing and its importance to voters, how to promote voting and learn about housing policies in your area, as well as NAHB’s congressional endorsements.
