Congress Extends Government Funding, NFIP Authorization Through Dec 20
With the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and federal government just days away from shutting down, Congress yesterday approved legislation to extend current federal government funding levels through Dec. 20. The legislation also extends authorization of the NFIP through Dec. 20.
NAHB believes that the NFIP is critically important for the economy, and the housing industry specifically. Moving forward, we will continue to work with Congress to achieve a long-term reauthorization of the NFIP that will keep the program fiscally sound and let builders provide safe and affordable housing.

Building Material Prices Rise in JulyPrices for residential building materials rose again in July, marking the largest year-over-year increase in over two years. The underlying price growth trend remained the same, with service prices continuing to grow at a faster pace than goods prices.
