The NAHB’s Sustainability and Green Building IBS Scholarship aims to provide exposure to young emerging green builders in the construction industry to the world of high-performance homes and help them to jump-start their professional journey by attending the International Builders’ Show (IBS).

The scholarship is available to young professionals and/or emerging green builders between the ages of 25 and 35 to attend the 2024 IBS in Las Vegas, Feb. 27-29. Scholarship recipients will receive $1,800 for travel expenses, and full registration to maximize their experience, with access to numerous networking events, education sessions and opportunities to see the latest products in the industry.

Previous scholarship recipients have cited countless networking and educational benefits that attending IBS provided:

“The Green Home Tour was a critical experience for me because I was able see how big builders are incorporating green standards into their building methods,” stated Jennifer Drew, a 2020 Sustainability and Green Building IBS scholarship recipient. “Not only did we get to see single-family units, but we also visited an entire apartment complex and got a chance to ask one-on-one questions with the building managers.”

“In addition to attending panel discussions and technical workshops, I had the opportunity to network with international home builders, women business owners and vendors from across countries,” shared Fiz Hassan, a 2022 Sustainability and Green Building IBS scholarship recipient.

Interested applicants can apply online. A resume and cover letter are also required. Applications are due Dec. 4.
