Greg Ugalde, a Connecticut-based builder and developer, was NAHB’s 2019 Chairman of the Board. Ugalde is president and chief legal officer of Torrington-based T&M Building Co. Inc., and is the founder and owner of GFU Investments, LLC. He has been active in NAHB leadership at the local, state and national levels throughout his career. A life delegate, Ugalde has served on numerous NAHB committees, was a member of several association task force groups, served as vice chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee as well as chairman of BUILD-PAC and three other committees.
From 2006-2010, Ugalde served as NAHB State Representative from Connecticut and was the moderator of the State Representatives in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, Ugalde was elected as the National Area Chairman for his region. Ugalde has served on the board of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association (HBRA) of Connecticut since 1999 and has been a member of its executive committee since 2000, was named local and state Builder of the Year the same year and served as HBRA president from 2003-2005. He is a three-time HBRA Distinguished Service Award recipient and was chair of the Connecticut Developers Council from 1997-2004. Ugalde received his state’s home building industry’s highest honor, the Charles J. LoDolce Award, in 2011.
He serves on the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority board of directors and the advisory board and steering committee of HOMEConnecticut. Ugalde is actively involved in his community, served on the Avon-Canton-Farmington Youth Hockey Association board for more than 15 years, including as its president, and has coached more than 20 teams as a certified hockey and little league coach. He served on the Westminster School Board of Trustees, and is a member of the American, Connecticut and Massachusetts bar associations. Ugalde continues to serve on the Planning & Zoning Section executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association.
