David F. Wilson served as the NAHB president in 2005. Wilson led NAHB’s relief effort to raise more than $2 million for the victims of Hurricane Katrina through its Home Building Industry Disaster Relief Fund. A custom builder and commercial developer from Idaho, Wilson is a former president of the Building Contractors Association of the Wood River Valley in Hailey, Idaho, and a president of the Idaho Building Contractors Association. He also served as Mayor of Sun Valley from 1997-2001, as a city council member from 1991-1997, and has served on the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) board of commissioners since 1995. Wilson was inducted into the National Housing Hall of Fame in 2011.
