Bruce C. Smith

Bruce Smith was the 2001 president of NAHB. A builder from Walnut Creek, Calif., Smith is president of Smith Quality Homes. A member of NAHB Board of Directors since 1983, Smith served as a National Representative and a National Vice President of NAHB. Smith was president of the California Building Industry Association in 1994 and, in 1992, received the state President’s Award for exceptional service. He also received the Presidential Award twice from his local association. Smith was president of the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and chairman of the California Construction Industry Advancement Fund. Gov. Pete Wilson appointed Smith to the California Vocational Training Council and the California Construction Summit.
