Thomas N. Thompson

Thomas N. “Tommy” Thompson served as NAHB president in 1994. A second-generation home builder from Owensboro, Ky., Thompson is president of Thompson Homes, Inc. Thompson served as president of the Home Builders Association of Owensboro in 1981 and president of the Home Builders Association of Kentucky from 1983 to 1984. He was named Kentucky Builder of the Year in 1978.

Thompson was appointed chairman of the board of the Kentucky Housing Corp. by Gov. John Y. Brown in 1984 and by Gov. Martha Lane Collins in 1986. He was an NAHB national representative from 1978-79, a national director from 1977-88, and was elected a life director in 1988.

Thompson is a member of the board of directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and the National Park Foundation.
