J. Roger Glunt served as NAHB president in 1993. Glunt is a home builder and remodeler from Pittsburgh, Pa., and president of the Glunt Building Co., Inc. which he co-founded with his father in 1966. Glunt was president of the Pennsylvania Builders Association in 1976 and received their Builder of the Year award in 1973 and 1980. He was president of the Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh in 1969 and received their Builder of the Year award in 1970.
Glunt served as an NAHB national vice president in 1982 and 1983. He became an NAHB life director in 1976 and a senior life director in 1990. In 1973, he served as a member of Pennsylvania Gov. Thornburgh’s Commission on Mortgage and Interest Rates and has been a member of the board of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency since 1985. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Jack Kemp appointed Glunt to the Advisory Commission on Regulatory Barriers to Affordable Housing in 1990.
