Robert “Jay” Buchert, a Cincinnati builder and president and founder of American Heritage Construction and Development Corp. served as president of NAHB in 1992. Buchert also served NAHB as an area vice president and national representative and chaired several committees. He served as president of the Ohio Home Builders Association in 1985. Buchert also served President Ronald Reagan on the Private Sector Initiative Committee and President George H. W. Bush as a member of the Small Business Administration's National Advisory Council and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. Buchert served Housing and Urban Development Secretary Jack Kemp as a member of the Advisory Commission on Regulatory Barriers to Affordable Housing.
