Randall L. Smith was president of NAHB in 1996. A fourth-generation Californian and a second-generation custom home builder and land developer from Walnut Creek, Smith has been an active participant in NAHB since 1967. Smith served a two-year term as national area vice president and served on many committees and task forces. Smith continued the family tradition of community involvement with leadership positions in the YMCA, Rotary International, and local schools and foundations.
