Merrill Butler II served as president of NAHB in 1980. Butler is president of Butler Housing Corp. in Irvine, Calif., president of Butler Housing Corp. of Arizona in Phoenix, and president of Bullard Homes Corp., in Fresno, Calif. He is a past president of the Building Industry Association of Southern California and was named Southern California Builder of the Year by that association in 1978.
