Louis R. Barba served as NAHB president in 1969-70. A second-generation builder, Barba owns Barcon Associates in Chatham, N.J., whose diversified operations include residential construction, land development, shopping centers and other types of commercial building. His company was founded by his father in 1912. Barba is a past president of the New Jersey State Home Builders Association and the Metropolitan Home Builders Association of New Jersey. He has served repeatedly as a national director of NAHB.
