Lewis Cenker, a lawyer as well as a builder and developer, served as president of NAHB in 1974. Elected president of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Atlanta, Cenker was one of the first commissioners of the Atlanta Better Housing Commission. Cenker was also a founding member of the Home Builders Association of Georgia. He was a member of the American Bar Association committee on public regulation of land use for several years. Cenker also served two years on the advisory committee of the Federal National Mortgage Association and was appointed a director by President Ford.
