Leon N. Weiner served as NAHB president in 1967. He is president of Leon N. Weiner & Associates, Inc., of Wilmington, Del. Weiner was the recipient of the 1984 National Housing Conference Man of the Year Award. He served as chairman of the executive committee and was one of the original presidential appointees to the board of directors of the National Corporation for Housing Partnerships, an organization created in 1968 to involve major American businesses in financing housing for low- and moderate-income families. Weiner is a member of the Federal Policy Council of the Urban Land Institute and was the first chairman on the Joint Land Use Research Committee of the Urban Land Institute and NAHB. He is a public service member of the board of directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board of Pittsburgh and has served since its inception on the board of directors of Housing Opportunities of Northern Delaware, Inc. Weiner is a recipient of the Department of Housing & Urban Development’s award for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity.
