George S. Goodyear, builder of war and post-war homes in Pittsburgh and in Charlotte, N.C., served as the 1957 NAHB president. Goodyear served as president of both the Pittsburgh and Charlotte home builders associations. He participated in the formation of the Home Builders Association Emergency Committee and the Home Builders Institute in the early 1940s, resulting in the founding and chartering of NAHB.
