George Nixon was a Chicago-area home builder who served as president of both organizations that led to the creation of NAHB. He led the NHBA in 1941 and the Home Builders Institute in 1942. Nixon produced the first home builders’ convention and exposition when he headed the Chicago Metropolitan Home Builders Association, which was subsequently taken over by NAHB.
