David D. Bohannon was a key organizer and founder of NAHB and served as its president in 1942. Bohannon built desperately-needed war and post-war homes in well-planned communities in and around San Mateo, Calif. He also pioneered new and faster production and his work vastly enriched the quality of American life. Bohannon served as president of the Urban Land Institute in 1958 and 1959.
