Jim Chapman, an Atlanta-based real estate developer with more than 25 years of experience in the construction field, was elected today as 2026 third vice chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) during the association’s International Builders’ Show in Orlando.

Chapman is CEO of Jim Chapman Construction Group (JCCG), a build-to-rent (BTR) general contractor. Launched in 1998, JCCG’s services include home design, pre-construction estimating, value engineering and home/lot/amenity general contracting. Licensed as a general contractor in six southeastern states and Indiana, JCCG provides turn-key BTR contracting solutions for institutional investors and private developers alike. To date, JCCG has successfully completed 3,900 homes, 5,000 lots and 18 amenity complexes.

“Our focus in 2026 is to address America’s housing affordability crisis and promote policies that will provide affordable rental housing and homeownership opportunities for hard-working American families,” said Chapman. “Specifically, we will be calling on the White House and Congress to remove regulatory barriers that are raising the cost of housing and preventing builders from increasing the nation’s housing supply.”

A dedicated leader in the home building industry, Chapman is a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA), where he is a lifetime board member and previously served as the association’s 2018 president. Additionally, he served as president of the Home Builders Association of Georgia (HBAG) in 2020 and 2021. A strong advocate for the housing industry, Chapman actively supports membership growth and advocacy efforts. He earned the GAHBA Spike Award in 2017 and 2022 and the HBAG BEAM Award in 2017 for his contributions.

At NAHB, Chapman has chaired the 55+ Housing Industry Council, Single-Family Builders Committee, Land Development Committee and BUILD-PAC. He most recently served on the Federal Government Affairs and the Budget and Finance committees. He also serves as a BUILD-PAC trustee and as an NAHB Georgia State Representative.

Deeply committed to philanthropy, Chapman served on the board of the Schenck School and has held leadership roles with Wesley Woods Senior Living and Northside Methodist Atlanta.

Chapman holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.

NAHB’s newly elected senior officers serve on a multi-year leadership ladder. Chapman will become chairman of NAHB’s Board of Directors in 2029.
