Statement from NAHB Chairman Chuck Fowke on the Nomination of Gov. Raimondo as Commerce Secretary

Chuck Fowke, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and a custom home builder from Tampa, Fla., issued the following statement on President-elect Joe Biden’s nomination of Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo as the nation’s next secretary of commerce:

“NAHB commends President-elect Biden’s choice of Gov. Raimondo as his commerce secretary. She is a pragmatic leader who understands housing, workforce training and the important role that business plays in creating a healthy economy. Gov. Raimondo’s executive experience will provide the right leadership for this vital Cabinet post, and we urge the Senate to move quickly to confirm her as the nation’s next secretary of the Department of Commerce.”
