Over the years, Ric has expanded his knowledge by obtaining a Master Electricians certificate, a State of Ohio Electrical Contractors License, a State of Ohio Fire Marshall Fire Alarm License, the CTA/COMPTIA Digital Home Technology Integrator plus Networking (DHTI+) certificate and NAHB's Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS).

CAPS Builder puts in place all the experience that Ric has gained over the past fifty years, building custom homes and renovations that assist families, allowing them to live in place. Integrating technology into their living spaces that provide additional safety and keeping loved one and caregivers informed as to needs and situations.

Ric continues to serve as a member of the state of Ohio's Board of Building Standards Residential Construction Advisory Committee, developing, implementing, and interpreting the Residential Code of Ohio.
