Business Management for Building Professionals
This course will give you a solid foundation for managing employees in small- to medium-sized building/home remodeling and construction service companies. Work closely with industry professionals to learn critical elements, from planning to evaluating progress, and receive practical tips and tools for building a business successfully. You will gain a solid grasp of industry best practices and attain knowledge of practical tools of value, whether you are a new or experienced owner.
This course is intended for builders, remodelers, and other home building industry professionals interested in understanding the challenges and best practices involved in managing a small to medium home building/remodeling business.
By completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Explore the elements required to successfully own and operate a small to medium-sized building or remodeling company, with emphasis on overcoming common business challenges
- Examine planning and goal-setting strategies, process optimization and organizational structures
- Identify the role of process mapping to optimize workflow, financial planning and performance evaluation
- Review the essential systems for successful business management
- Examine the importance of developing, implementing and managing systems to enhance operational efficiency in a construction-related business
This course provides 6 hours of continuing education credits for these NAHB credentials: CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGP, CGR, CMP, CSP, GMB, GMR, Master CGP, Master CSP and MIRM.
This course can be an elective for the Master CSP credential.
This course counts as 6 credit hours towards the required continuing education component of the NAHB Certified Master Building and Remodeling Professional Credentials (CMBP and CMRP).
6 AIA/CES LU: NAHB is a Registered Provider with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Systems. Credit earned on completion of this course will be reported to CES Records for AIA members by NAHB. Certificates of Completion for non-AIA members are available upon request.
This course is also approved for continuing education for contractor state licenses in the state of Utah.
